THE DEPARTMENT of Education and Gokongwei Brothers Foundation Inc. have inked partnership to support the students from Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand in senior high school.

Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio and GBF Chairman Mr. Lance Gokongwei have signed the Memorandum of Agreement.

Duterte-Carpio said that GBF has long been a reliable partner of the DepEd in promoting STEM Education in the country and has supported the development of the said strand by providing scholarships, technical training, teacher training and donations to various schools.

This year their STEM collab has reached 30,000 faculty members who provide various training to develop teaching methods and arts.

Through Juan Kapatid Learning Recovery program of GBF, schools have been given assistance.

GBF has also initiated projects such as TeachSTEM Scholarship Programs, Iskolar ni Juan Program, STEM Community-based Scholarship for Excellence, Young Scientist Award and Educators Capacity-Building Programs.

“Taos-pusong pasalamat ang ating pinaaabot sa bumubuo ng Gokongwei Brothers Foundation, Inc. sa isang natatanging pagtutulungan na ito at sa patuloy na suporta sa Kagawaran,” the Vice President said.

“Patuloy tayong magtatrabaho dahil naniniwala tayo na ang edukasyon ang susi para sa pagbabago ng kinabukasan ng ating kabataan at ng ating bayan,” Duterte-Carpio added.
