THE DEPARTMENT of Education is committed to upskilling and reskilling teachers to secure a better future for Filipino learners.

During the Teacher Education Council (TEC) Symposium on Pre-service Teacher Education Curriculum Reframing, Education Secretary Sonny Angara emphasized the importance of reforming teacher education to address learning loss.

“Education is a long-term investment that will yield dividends for a more prosperous nation. When teachers excel, positive outcomes follow for both the youth and the country,” Sec. Angara stated.

Angara further noted that enhancing teacher education is key to addressing systemic learning challenges and creating future-ready classrooms.

“Curriculum reform is not just a policy shift; it is a moral imperative. Teachers are central to our national progress, and their excellence sparks a chain reaction that drives further reforms,” Angara added.

DepEd shared that the TEC Symposium brought together education leaders and stakeholders to explore ways to modernize teacher education and improve its impact on student outcomes.
