THE DEPARTMENT of Education has set the early registration of students in public primary and secondary schools for School Year 2022-2023 on March 25 to April 30, 2022.

The month-long activity will give the department time to better prepare for possible issues and concerns that may arise.

“All incoming Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11 in public elementary and secondary schools shall pre-register to allow the Department to make necessary preparations and incoming plans for the coming school year,” Education Secretary Leonor Briones said in a memorandum dated March 21.

Briones said those in Grades 2-6, 8-10, and 12 are considered pre-registered and will not participate in early registration.

She encouraged private schools to hold their respective early registration activities in the same timeframe.

The department also reminded schools and the public to follow health protocols during the early registration activity.

In-person registration by parents and guardians will be allowed in areas under Alert Levels 1 and 2.

In areas under Alert Levels 3 to 5, registration shall be done through remote means such as text messaging and social media platforms.

The current academic year will end on June 24, 2022. DepEd has yet to announce the start of SY 2022-2023.
