THE DEPARTMENT of Education continues to repair schools in Central Luzon that were damaged by Super Typhoon Karding.

Based on the DepEd’s Rapid Assessment of Damages Report, there were 278 completely damaged classrooms, 266 classrooms with serious damage and 637 classrooms with minor damage.

Most of the schools damaged are located in the provinces of Aurora and Nueva Ecija.

“Patuloy po ang ating school DRRM coordinators sa ating quick response actions para maisaayos ang ating mga paaralan,” Albert Mantulac, regional disaster risk reduction and management coordinator, said.

DepEd Central Luzon education program supervisor Dr. Nestor Nuesca said that printed materials and online distance learning may be used during emergencies.

“This has been proven to support distance-teaching and learning and should be used if ever it is possible and available,” Nuesca said.
