APRUB sa Department of Education ang pagsasagawa ng Christmas party sa public schools ngunit dapat itong gawing simple.

Ayon sa DepEd, hindi dapat puwersahin ang mga estudyante na magbigay ng monetary contributions.

“Celebrations in public schools and DepEd central and field offices should be simple yet meaningful, keeping in mind the true spirit of the season and the austerity called for by the difficult economic times,” ayon sa DepEd order na pinirmahan ni Vice President at Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Sinabi niya na ang mga kontribusyon para sa Christmas party, tema, kasuotan, dekorasyon, at exchange gift, cash man o in kind, ay dapat boluntaryo lamang.

Hindi, aniya, maaaring pagbawalan ang estudyante na dumalo sa Christmas party kung hindi siya boluntaryong magbibigay ng kontribusyon o regalo.

“Gift-giving should be guided by the spirit of sharing and should not lead to extravagant spending,” sabi ni Duterte-Carpio.

Samantala, papayagan ang mga school division na maglabas ng karagdagang mga alituntunin ayon sa kanilang lokal na kaugalian at tradisyon.
