DEPED CHIEF VISITS TYPHOON-STRICKEN SCHOOLS IN CAMSUR

/ 6 December 2024

EDUCATION Secretary Sonny Angara visited typhoon-stricken schools in Camarines Sur, bringing much-needed learning materials to affected areas.

He was accompanied by other Department of Education officials and partner organizations.

“Kami po sa DepEd, initial visit pa lang po ito. Asahan po ninyo ang mga darating pang aksyon. Makakaasa po kayo na patuloy naming isusulong ang dekalidad na edukasyon para sa bawat bata,” Angara assured during his visit.

Gainza Central School received donations from UNICEF, including teaching packs, student kits, classroom materials, and digital tools to support learning recovery efforts.

Meanwhile, Bula Central School benefited from learning packs and whiteboards provided by USAID’s Advancing Basic Education in the Philippines Project.

Angara expressed his gratitude to UNICEF and USAID for their commitment to helping Filipino children.

In addition to these schools, the Education Secretary also inspected Minalabac National High School, which suffered significant damage due to flooding.
