DEPED CHIEF TO SCHOOLS: FIND SOLUTIONS TO MINOR PROBLEMS
EDUCATION Secretary Leonor Magtolis-Briones on Tuesday said schools that were hit by typhoon Rolly should find ways to repair damaged distance learning materials.
In the Laging Handa virtual press briefing, Briones said schools should have the initiative to find solutions to problems such as wet learning modules.
“Halimbawa, nabasa ang module, siguro hindi naman susulat ang superintendent na, ‘basa ang module namin.’ Maghanap sila ng paraan,” Briones said.
“Siguro ibibilad nila. ‘Yung iba pinaplantsa. Hindi na sila uutusan ng circular galing sa Central Office para sabihin kung ano ang gagawin,” she added.
The DepEd chief reiterated that education should continue despite the challenges posed by distance learning.
Several schools were damaged when typhoon Rolly battered the Bicol region and other provinces on Sunday.
Education Undersecretary Alain Pascua called for the immediate repair of these schools.
Data from DepEd showed that 226 schools were damaged while 869 others were used as evacuation centers.
