DEPED CHIEF MEETS WITH DEPED CAGAYAN FOR EDUCATION PROJECTS
DEPARTMENT of Education Secretary Sonny Angara met with the DepEd Cagayan Central Office to discuss coordination between the Schools Division Office and the provincial government on education programs in the province.
Cagayan Governor Edgar “Egay” Aglipay and his Change Team, together with Schools Division Superintendent Reynante Z. Caliguiran, joined the meeting with Angara.
According to DepEd Cagayan, during the dialogue, Aglipay and SDS Caliguiran briefed the Secretary on the leadership and synergy within the province, highlighting the support of all 28 local chief executives for the implementation of the ARAL Program in schools.
The team also presented a request outlining a large-scale infrastructure and personnel expansion to address the growing needs of Cagayan’s learner population.
Among the requests were funding for 206 new classrooms to ease congestion, additional teacher items, the establishment of two Provincial Science High Schools in Camalaniugan and Tuao, increased Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE), and staffing support for more than 40 integrated schools under the Schools Division Office. They also sought funding for the construction of an SDO satellite office at the Sub-Capitol in Lal-lo and a large-scale storage facility at Peñablanca National High School.
