EDUCATION Secretary Sonny Angara led the mass oath-taking of 418 newly promoted teachers and school heads in Talisay City, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening the teaching profession.

According to the Department of Education, the promotions form part of the agency’s Expanded Career Progression System, which aims to facilitate more than 100,000 promotions for teachers and school heads nationwide this year as part of broader efforts to revitalize the education sector.

“We are ensuring that our teachers receive the recognition and professional growth they deserve, as this is a cornerstone of the education reform agenda under the administration of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.,” Angara said.

“The President has been very clear that by supporting our teachers’ career advancement, we are directly investing in the future of our students and the success of the Bagong Pilipinas vision,” he added.

Angara emphasized that teacher welfare remains a top priority, noting that supporting educators is essential to maintaining high-quality instruction across public schools.

Following the ceremony, the education chief also visited South City Central Elementary School in Toledo City, where he inspected the newly constructed Special Education (SPED) school building and reviewed the school’s Special Science programs.
