DEPED CENTRAL LUZON SUSPENDS F2F CLASSES

/ 7 March 2023

THE DEPARTMENT of Education office in Central Luzon ordered the suspension of face-to-face classes in areas affected by the week-long nationwide transportation strike.

DepEd-Central Luzon issued Regional Memorandum No. 101, series of 2023 stating that classes will be held online or through modular learning.

“In light of the week-long transport strike on March 6-10, 2023, all schools under areas affected by the transport strike and those with classes suspended by their respective local government units are hereby instructed to implement distance learning modalities such as online or modular learning,” it said.

However, the agency said that areas which are not affected by the strike will continue conducting face-to-face classes.

The DepEd-Central Office earlier said that it will not implement a nationwide suspension of face-to-face classes as the cancellation of physical classes will depend on the mandate of schools.

Most schools and universities in the National Capital Region suspended in-person classes from March 6 to 11 because of the transport strike.
