DEPED ASSURES CONTINUITY OF SHS VOUCHER PROGRAM

THE DEPARTMENT of Education assured the public that the Senior High School Voucher Program will continue in the upcoming school year.

DepEd said that it will also continue to implement other assistance and subsidies.

It added learners who completed or will complete Grade 10 in School Year 2020-2021 in public schools, state universities and colleges, local universities and colleges and private schools who are Education Service Contracting grantees need not apply for the SHS voucher program since they are automatically qualified.

The department is preparing to open online voucher application for incoming Grade 11 learners who passed the Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency Test for Junior High School level not earlier than 2016, Alternative Learning System learners who passed the Portfolio Assessment, and those who passed the Philippine Educational Placement Test for Grade 10.

However, the agency is yet to announce the opening of voucher application for incoming Grade 11 learners who completed Grade 10 in private junior high schools and who are not grantees under the DepEd ESC Program. It explained that it is still waiting for additional funding from the Department of Budget and Management to cater to more beneficiaries.

The detailed guidelines on the conduct of the SHS Voucher Application for School Year 2021-2022 is available on DepEd’s websites and other official platforms and the Private Education Assistance Committee.
