ISINUSULONG ni Parañaque City 2nd District Rep. Joy Myra Tambunting ang panukala para sa pagtatayo ng Crisis Center for Street Children sa bawat rehiyon sa bansa.

Sa kanyang House Bill 9968 o ang proposed Street Children Crisis Center Act, sinabi ni Tambunting na sa pagtaas ng antas ng kahirapan sa urban centers, katumbas nito ang dumaraming street children na kadalasang napapabayaan ng mga magulang.

“Considering the responsibility of State to uphold the right of children to assistance including proper care and nutrition, and special protection from al forms of neglect, abuse, cruelty, exploitation and other conditions prejudicial to their development, it is only apt to legislate measures towards the protection of these street children,” pahayag ni Tambunting sa kanyang explanatory note.

Batay sa panukala, magkakaroon ng crisis center sa bawat rehiyon na magbibigay ng tamang pag-aalaga at nutrisyon sa street children.

Magkakaroon din ng livelihood, technical at social proograms na makatutulong sa mga street children.

Nakasaad sa panukala na ang mga programa sa ilalim nito ay ipatutupad ng Department of Social Welfare and Development katuwang ang local government units.

Maaari ring makipagtulungan ang lokal na pamahalaan sa pribadong sektor para sa pagpapalawak ng programa.
