/ 13 May 2025

SOME schools have suspended classes on May 13, after the election to give time for students to return from their respective pronvinces.

University of the East and San Sebastian College-Recoletos in Manila announced their suspension of classes.

“Following the national elections on May 12, the University of the East (UE) announced that there will be no classes, onsite and online, on May 13 to give ample time for Warriors to get back to Manila from their provinces,” UE said in a statement.

Meanwhile, for San Sebastian, it said that it will also give an opportunity for the students to reconnect with their families.

“This is also an opportunity to reconnect with loved ones and recharge. As we prepare for enrollment for the academic year 2025-2026, your energy and commitment will be vital for a successful year ahead,” the advisory read.

On the other hand, University of San Agustin-Iloilo  suspended face-to-face classes.

“Following consultation with the Deans and the Academic Supervisor, it has been noted that many students and faculty members who traveled to their respective hometowns to exercise their right to vote are experiencing difficulty returning to the city today. The majority are expected to travel back tomorrow morning.”

“In consideration of this, face to face classes at the University of San Agustin will be suspended on May 13, 2025 (Tuesday) and shall shift to asynchronous classes,” it said.
