CHILDREN below 18 years old will be given free MRT-3 rides on Monday, November 6, as the country marks National Children’s Month, the Council for the Welfare of Children said.

CWC Executive Director Undersecretary Angelo Tapales said that the free ride will run from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“Tanging mga bata lang po ang makaka-avail so pasensiya na po doon sa mga kasamang adults, hindi po kayo kasama sa ngayon kasi po ito naman ay National Children’s Month,” Tapales said.

He said that they will ask MRT-3 to adjust the free ride schedule because there are students riding the train earlier than 7 a.m.

“Iku-communicate natin iyan kay General Manager ng MRT Line 3. Let’s see what we can do. Iyong 7 o’ clock kasi wala nang batang masyadong sumakay dahil nakapasok na sila,” he said.

Under Republic Act 10661, National Children’s Month is celebrated every November to instill the significance of children’s rights in Filipino consciousness.
