CHED RECEIVES P16-M FROM PCSO
THE COMMISSION on Higher Education received P16 million as its share from the proceeds of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
Under section 10 of Republic Act 7722, the PCSO is required to donate one percent of the equivalent gross revenues of its lottery activities to the CHED.
A PCSO representative gave a check worth P16,708,672.60 to CHED representative Richard Dean Gavilan at a turnover ceremony at the PCSO’s main office in Mandaluyong City.
PCSO General Manager Royina Marzan-Garma said the cash came from the agency’s many charity activities.
“Our mandate is to generate funds for charity so we will focus on raising more funds. We in PCSO promise that we will remain steadfast and ensure that integrity and professionalism will be our core values in extending assistance to our fellow Filipinos,” she said.
