THE COMMISSION on Higher Education has opened the application process of its Merit Scholarship Program for Academic Year 2023-2024.

In a Facebook post, CHED said there are 13,455 available slots for the scholarship program for incoming college students.

“CHED is thrilled to announce that applications are now open for the Merit Scholarship Program. The selection process is highly competitive, and applicants will be ranked based on how well they meet the requirements,” it said.

The program aims to support talented students, especially the poor and homeless, persons with disability, and solo parents or their dependents.

Scholars can enroll in any CHED recognized priority programs in private higher education institutions, State Universities and Colleges and Local Universities and Colleges.

They may be awarded a full or partial scholarship under the State Scholarship and Private Education Student Financial Assistance.

“This scholarship program shall cover tuition and other school fees, stipend which shall be released directly to the scholars or through HEIs, and book connectivity allowance per semester of a given academic year until the completion of the degree program,” CHED said.

Deadline for the submission of requirements is on May 31, 2023.
