THE COMMISSION on Higher Education on Monday said it is studying the possibility of allowing limited face-to-face classes in areas with low Covid19 risk and high vaccination rate.
CHED Chairman Prospero De Vera III said that physical classes for all degree programs is possible.
“Baka papayagan na natin pagdating ng mga susunod na buwan ang mga eskwelahan na mag-limited face-to-face in all their degree programs as long as they abide with the guidelines and they are inspected,” he said in a news briefing in Malacañang.
“Magiging dalawa na ang ating limited face-to-face classes, by degree programs and possibly by geographic areas. Iyon ang ating pinag-aaralan ngayon,” he added.
In January, President Rodrigo Duterte allowed the conduct of limited in-person classes for medicine and allied health courses.
Last month, Duterte approved the expansion of limited F2F classes to include other degree programs that “require hands-on experience” in areas that are under Modified General Community Quarantine.
These programs are Engineering and Technology, Hospitality/Hotel and Restaurant Management, Tourism/Travel Management, Marine Engineering and Marine Transportation.
The Department of Education is set to start limited face-to-face classes in selected public schools on November 15.
