THE BULACAN State University-Sarmiento campus has successfully patented the design of an eco-friendly public utility bench.

BulSU said on Monday that the bench features a charging dock and fan that run on solar power.

The design can be commercialized and used by the university.

It was conceptualized by Drafting Technology students, in coordination with faculty members from the Information and Industrial Technology Department.

The project was presented as an entry to BulSU’s Science Technology Week, where it bagged second place.

“Some modifications were made prior to application on June 2019. The long process was a little delayed because of the pandemic in 2020. This September 2021, the project was finally registered as a UTILITY MODEL,” BulSU said on Facebook.
