PINANGUNAHAN ni Vice President at Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio ang pagsisimula ng taunang Brigada Eskwela bilang paghahanda sa pagbubukas ng klase sa Agosto 22.

Ayon sa kalihim, ang nasabing aktibidad ay maaaring magdulot ng excitement at pagkabalisa sa ilang guro, mga magulang, at maging sa mga bata dahil na rin sa patuloy na banta ng Covid19.

“Excitement — because Brigada Eskwela activities all over the country always highlight the communal efforts of all education stakeholders to prepare our schools for our learners. We would see parents who are excited, willing, and happy to extend any help they could to ensure that our schools are ready to receive our learners from day one of the opening of classes and onwards to the school year,” wika ni Duterte-Carpio sa kanyang talumpati sa Imus Pilot Elementary School sa Cavite.

“Uneasiness or anxiety — because of the peculiarity of our time now. We continue to face the threats of the Covid-19 pandemic, along with many other unexpected challenges that hamper our daily progress for our learners — monkeypox, baha, bagyo, earthquake — all of that will come. What is important is that we have the determination to succeed in our mission,” dagdag pa kalihim.

Kabilang sa mga gawain sa Brigada Eskwela ang paglilinis, pagpipintura, at pagkukumpuni ng mga sirang gamit sa mga eskwelahan kung saan nakikibahagi ang mga mag-aaral, mga guro, at mga volunteer para mapaghandaan ang muling pagbubukas ng klase.

“The collaboration between the parents, the teachers, local government units, and the entire community on Brigada Eskwela opens deeper and meaningful collaborations even until after the school year closes,” ani Duterte-Carpio.

Sinabi ni Duterte-Carpio na naglatag din ng mga measure ang kagawaran na magsisilbing gabay upang matiyak na hindi mahahawaan ang mga bata ng nakamamatay na virus.

Muli namang hinikayat ng kalihim ang lahat ng mga guro at non-teaching personnel na magpabakuna.
