A BILL seeking the establishment of Sultan Kudarat State University College of Medicine has been filed at the House of Representatives.

Sultan Kudarat Rep. Princess Rihan Mangudadatu Sakaluran, who filed House Bill 6771, said that the proposed law will help provide more medical professionals in the province.

“This legislation aims to shape and create doctors who can help the nation’s health care system. The law also provides scholarships and other programs to help poor but deserving students of this school,” SKSU said on its website.

“This bill is also important to address the shortage of doctors in the province and neighboring provinces,” it added.

The establishment of the college was endorsed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Sultan Kudarat last month.

Governor Datu Pax Ali Sangki Mangudadatu vowed to give the first batch of enrollees full scholarships once the college is operational.
