NILINAW ng Department of Education na hindi bahagi ng kanilang learning resources ang nag-viral na modyul na may grammatical error at humihikayat sa mga mag-aaral na huwag sumali sa mga protesta.

Base sa inisyal na imbestigasyon, hindi pumasa sa pagsusuri sa pagsunod ng curriculum at in-struction strand ng central office ang nasabing modyul.

“We would like to clarify that a certain learning module that has gone viral on social media creat-ing an impression that the Department discourages students from joining peaceful assemblies is not part of DepEd’s curriculum resources,” sabi ng DepEd sa opisyal na pahayag nito.

“We are still tracing how the material was circulated,” dagdag pa ng kagawaran.

Ito ang naging tugon ng kagawaran sa kumakalat na larawaran ng modyul ng Media and Infor-mation Literacy para sa Grade 12, kung saan may guide question ito na: “If given the chance, will you join this rally? Why or why not?”

At ang tamang sagot na nakasaad sa modyul ay: “No, because the government is really doing its best for all the Filipino people and its constituents.”

Samantala, sinabi ng Commission on Human Rights na habang ang pagrespeto sa batas ay ma-gandang ituro sa mga bata, mahalaga rin na mabuo ang kritikal na pag-iisip ng mga bata lalo na sa nasyunal na mga isyu.

“We encourage citizens to continue to report to DepEd errors found in the learning materials for the benefit of our children, as well as a call for an improvement in our current educational sys-tem,” sabi ni CHR spokesperson Jacqueline Ann De Guia.
