ALS STUDENTS RECEIVE FIRST BATCH OF NEW MODULES FROM DEPED
THE DEPARTMENT of Education announced students of Alternative Learning System will receive new modules.
The learning materials are projected to help over 3 million ALS junior high school students aged 15 to 24, according to DepEd Assistant Secretary G.H. Ambat.
“Bago na nga iyong curriculum for ALS. Kapantay na namin, magkatulad na kami sa K to 12,” she said.
“Itong mga learning resources na ito, nandoon na iyong tinatawag na 21st century skills na required ng K to 12 at required din siyempre ‘pag sila’y magta-trabaho or magpo-proceed sa senior high school. It will equip them further,” she added.
Ambat also said the modules would help students in real life work.
“It recognizes iyong prior learning tsaka ensuring din na magagamit nila ito sa kanilang mga trabaho when they go to work… focuses on their needs and their context as well,” she said.
According to the official, the modules went through a quality assurance process and took DepEd two years to issue.
