THE DEPARTMENT of Education reported that around 550 teachers are now Google Certified Educators after demonstrating proficiency in using Google tools in their classes and passing the Level 1 examination.

“We’re happy to announce that since January 2021, we have had Google Certification. We know that Google for Education has an important role in education by enhancing efficiency and productivity of teachers and students,” Rowena Reyes, Educational Technology Specialist of the Schools Division Office of Makati, said.

Data from the Information and Communications Technology Service-Education Technology Unit showed that Region IV-A emerged as the top region with the highest number of passers — 156.

It was followed by Region II with 118 passers and National Capital Region with 113 passers.

Santiago City in Isabela had 91 passers, Cavite Province, 65, and Rizal, 55.

Reyes has encouraged educators to take the Google Certification examination.

“Our training are continuous as stated in the memo. Every day, we have sessions in different regions because our goal is to help teachers to review and pass the Google Certification,” she said.
