4,833 ELEMENTARY AND 10,318 SECONDARY TEACHERS PASS LICENSURE EXAM
THE PROFESSIONAL Regulation Commission said that 4,833 elementary teachers and 10,318 secondary teachers passed the recent Licensure Examination for Teachers.
PRC said 8,726 elementary teachers took the exam but only 4,833 passed. It added that 3,908 of those passers were first timers while 975 were repeaters.
Meanwhile, 17,863 secondary teachers took the exam but only 10,318 passed. Of the passers are 9,286 first timers and 1,032 repeaters.
The exam was given by three members of the Board for Professional Teachers, including chairman Dr. Rosita Navarro.
The top performing school for elementary level which had a passing rate of 88.64 percent is the Cebu Technological University, with a total of 88 board passers.
In the secondary level, the top schools with 50 or more examinees with at least 85 percent passing percentage were West Visayas State University-Lapaz (91.55); Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (88.98); Cebu Normal University (88.33); and University of Mindanao-Davao City (87.50).
Also included in the list were MSU-General Santos City (87.43); Benguet State University-La Trinidad (87.34); University of Baguio (87.10); Saint Louis University (86.49); and Holy Cross of Davao College (86.27).
