THE SUPREME Court said that close to 4,000 Bar passers became full-pledged lawyers on May 2 after taking their oath and signing the Roll of Attorneys.

The oath-taking ceremony of 3,992 Bar passers took place at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City. The signing of the Roll of Attorneys followed shortly at the PICC Reception Hall.

In his speech at the ceremony, 2022 Bar Chairperson Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa urged the new lawyers to be critical thinkers.

“Good lawyers must also be true, to themselves as to others, and in that honesty navigate legal problems with creativity, innovation, and a healthy imagination of how a resolution can serve most if not all parties concerned,” Caguioa said.

Incoming 2023 Bar Chairperson Associate Justice Ramon Paul Hernando reminded the new lawyers to be of good repute throughout their professional life and to always keep their feet on the ground.

The 2022 Bar Examinations were held on November 9, 13, 16 and 20, 2022 in 14 local testing centers spread out across the National Capital Region, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
