TWO Filipino students bagged awards in the 2023 Copernicus International Math Olympiad, besting more than 100 finalists from 22 countries.

Incoming Grade 5 student Francis Deinmel Legaspi clinched the gold medal in the elementary category. He is currently studying at the Special Education for the Gifted in Subic.

Legaspi previously won gold medals in International Math Olympiad in Hong Kong, Thailand International Math Olympiad, Southeast Asia Math Olympiad, Philippine International Math Olympiad, and World International Math Olympiad.

Meanwhile, Luciano Armand Copok won the bronze medal in the secondary level category. He is a Grade 8 student from British School Manila.

The CIMO is a globally renowned competition where students participate in Mathematics and Astronomy tilts.

It was held in Columbia University in New York City from July 9 to 13, 2023.
