19,000 COPS BENEFIT FROM MANDATORY COURSES AND SPECIALIZED TRAININGS TO BOOST COMPETENCE AND READINESS
FOLLOWING the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted a comprehensive series of Mandatory Career Courses and Specialized Trainings from August 26 to October 7, 2025.
These programs aim to reinforce the administration’s vision of a motivated, professional, and highly competent police force capable of efficiently and effectively serving the Filipino people.
During this period, the PNP Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development (DHRDD) successfully conducted 56 career courses nationwide, benefiting a total of 2,738 personnel. This included 183 participants in the Public Safety Officers Senior Executive Course (PSOSEC), Public Safety Officers Advance Course (PSOAC), and Public Safety Officers Basic Course (PSOBC), as well as 2,555 participants in various leadership programs such as the Public Safety Officers Candidate Course (PSOCC) and the Public Safety Senior and Junior Leadership Courses.
These training initiatives seek to strengthen the operational competence, leadership capabilities, and overall readiness of police personnel in fulfilling their duty to serve and protect the public.
In addition to the career courses, 354 specialized trainings were held across administrative, intelligence, investigation, operational, and police-community relations categories, engaging 16,539 participants.
All these efforts fall under the PNP’s Focus Agenda on morale and welfare, underscoring the importance of building a well-trained and well-equipped police organization.
Acting PNP Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized, “Investing in the training and development of our personnel is not just an operational necessity—it is a commitment to the Filipino people. The strength of the PNP does not come from numbers alone but from the quality, commitment, and character of our men and women in uniform.”
PNP Spokesperson Police Brigadier General Randulf T. Tuaño added, “Each training completed is an investment in public trust. By continuously enhancing our skills and professionalism, we ensure that every police response reflects excellence and every action earns the confidence of the community we serve.”
Through these programs, the PNP reaffirms its commitment to maintaining a professional, capable, and citizen-focused police force—fully aligned with the vision of the Bagong PNP under the Bagong Pilipinas initiative.
