11,429 EXAMINEES RETURN FOR DAY 2 OF BAR EXAMS
THE SUPREME Court on Friday said 11,429 examinees returned for the second day of the Bar examinations on Sept. 10.
There had been a record high 11,437 examinees on Day One of the exams last Sept. 7, where would-be lawyers answered exams on Political and Public International Law in the morning, and Commercial and Taxation Laws in the afternoon.
On Day 2, examinees took Civil Law in the morning and Labor Law and Social Legislations in the afternoon.
For Day 3, scheduled on Sept. 14, the morning exam will cover Criminal Law, followed by Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises in the afternoon.
Members of the SC, led by Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo and 2025 Bar Chairperson and Associate Justice Amy Lazaro-Javier, visited the 14 local testing centers (LTCs) nationwide on Sept. 10 to personally observe the conduct of the exams.
Gesmundo flew to Mindanao to visit the state-run Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), the LTC in Iligan City.
Lazaro-Javier visited the Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) in the morning and later flew to Cebu in the afternoon to visit the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R).
The SC ensured that persons with disabilities were able to take the exams.
Blind examinees and a bilateral amputee were assisted by court stenographers, who transcribed dictated answers.
To ensure fairness, these stenographers have no law background.
As the examinees prepare for the final day of the Bar Exams, Lazaro-Javier urged the examinees to “cast aside their doubts and their lingering judgments on how they fared in the preceding days.”
Instead, she reminded them to once again, show up with full resolve and give their absolute best; to finish strong, knowing that they devoted everything to the pursuit of their dreams. (PNA)
