DAVAO CITY Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio asked her supporters to vote for her running mate, Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.

Duterte-Carpio made the call after some of her supporters said they will not back Marcos’ presidential bid.

“I respect it, but cannot be one with you on this,” she said.

She added that she is committed to the team that she joined.

“Nangako rin ako ng katapatan sa alyansang aking pinasok kasama ang Lakas-CMD Party at Partido Federal ng Pilipinas. Mahalaga po sa akin ang paninindigan at isang salita,” she said.

“I truly appreciate the love of so many for me and while I continue to respect your decision to support another presidential candidate, it is with a heavy heart that I cannot be one with you on this,” Duterte-Carpio added.
