PRESIDENTIAL aspirant and Vice President Leni Robredo assured there will be no substitution for her and running mate Senator Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan in next year’s national elections.

“For sure, (there will be) no substitution that will take place. When we filed our COCs (Certificate of Candidacy), we were determined to finish this,” she said.

“Sa amin po, siguradong wala. Sa amin siguradong wala. Noong nag-file kami, desidido kaming tapusin ito. Para po sa akin, iyong batas patungkol sa substitution masyadong naaabuso,” Robredo added.

As per the Commission on Elections, candidates for the 2022 polls can be substituted until November 15.

Robredo emphasized the law allowing substitution for candidates has been abused.

“It is clear in the Constitution that it should be used only for very, very extraordinary circumstances,” she said.
