DUTERTE SIGNS LAW EXTENDING VOTER REGISTRATION
PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has signed a law extending voter registration for 30 days.
Under Republic Act 11591, the last day for the filing of registration will be “30 days after the effectivity” of the new law.
The President signed the measure on Sept. 30 but it was announced by Malacañang on Friday, Oct. 1.
On September 29, the Commission on Elections announced that it will extend the voter registration from Oct. 11 to 30.
The listup will be from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The poll body said it will not accommodate voter applicants from October 1 to 8, the period allotted for the filing of certificates of candidacy.
