PRESIDENTIAL aspirant Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio vowed to ramp up sports programs to keep the youth away from violence and to develop a new pool of athletes that might bring honor to the country.
The statement was made after Save the Children Philippines reported that in 2019, some 1.8 million young people from Mindanao were severely affected by violence.
It said that such programs will help children focus on attention on constructive activities.
Aside from beefing up sports programs, the duo also vowed to increase the number of sports facilities in Mindanao.
