THE DIRECTOR of the Center for Teaching Excellence of the West Visayas State University has been recognized in the United Kingdom as a Fellow of Advance Higher Education after meeting the standards in the Professional Standards Framework for teaching and learning support roles.

Dr. Lorey Tanaleon was informed of the fellowship status on August 26.

Tanaleon said that being a Fellow is a privilege but more of a responsibility.

“I am committed to improving my academic practice and will be responsible for influencing my colleagues to improve their own academic practice and other academic endeavors,” Tanaleon said.

“The COE, being the ‘Center of Excellence in Teacher Education,’ will benefit the program as curricular innovations such as transition pedagogy and reflective teaching will be piloted,” she added.

She thanked the administration of the West Visayas State University led by its President Joselito Villaruz for its support and acknowledged the contribution of her peers in achieving such international distinction.
