WFTO RE-ACCREDITS UST’S OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY PROGRAM
THE University of Santo Tomas has earned a seven-year re-accreditation for its Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT).
The College of Rehabilitation Sciences’ BS Occupational Therapy program was re-accredited following a curriculum review and on-site visit by WFOT’s deputized task force.
The re-accreditation was confirmed in a letter from Philippine Academy of Occupational Therapists (PAOT) President Thea Sheila Ocheda-Alonto to CRS Dean Anne Marie Aseron.
Program facilities and resources received an “Excellent” rating, while classroom practices and syllabi were rated “Satisfactory.”
Department Chair Kathlene Anne Hernandez highlighted that the curriculum now follows a biopsychosocial model, integrating both local and international knowledge.
Students undergo over 1,000 hours of clinical and non-clinical rotations, preparing them for future leadership roles.
The WFOT accreditation allows graduates to pursue international certification and licensure, meeting global standards.
