VISAYAS STATE U TO CONSTRUCT TWO-STOREY BUILDING

/ 14 August 2021

A NEW building will soon rise at the Visayas State University Alangalang campus in Leyte.

The two-storey building will be the centerpiece structure in the campus, the school said.

It will replace the old social hall and the classroom complex.

The new building will house the university’s administrative offices such as the Office of the Chancellor, Office of the Director for Instruction, the registrar, finance, and accounting.

Chancellor Dr. Judith Jomadiao said that the new building can accommodate more students.

“Our student population continues to grow through the years. From having 300 students a decade ago, we have seen our enrollment spike six times with our current population now at 1,700,” she said.

“Our current administrative offices are just an appendage to some of our classrooms so this new project will really help us decongest our buildings and hopefully convert the old admin into additional classrooms,” Jomadiao added.
