VISAYAS STATE U TIGHTENS DRONE POLICY

/ 13 April 2023

THE VISAYAS State University has tightened its policies on drones as part of its security measures on campus.

VSU said that drones can be used for surveillance against the school thus, a permit is now needed before one can be used on school grounds.

“We believe it is important to institute a policy that puts premium on the safety and security of our constituents and our spaces,” VSU said.

For now, no fees will be collected for commercial drone flying but the university said that it will confiscate those flown without permits.

Drone pilots should coordinate with the VSU’s Office of the President and Office of the Chancellor.
