VISAYAS STATE U SLOWLY RECOVERING FROM TYPHOON ODETTE
LITTLE by little, the Visayas State University is recovering from the onslaught of Typhoon Odette, officials said.
Some areas in the university now have temporary access to electricity, VSU President Edgardo Tulin said.
Tulin said on Facebook that half of the campus rely on generators.
Internet connection has also been restored in several offices.
“We’re continuing to clear the debris of Typhoon Odette to make sure that both our electricity and telecommunication lines will be ready once power and internet [are] back to normal,” Tulin said.
“We’re also adjusting some of our academic policies to understand the difficult plight of our students who have been affected by #OdettePH,” he added.
The university launched a donation drive for the victims of the typhoon in Southern Leyte.
