VISAYAS STATE U SET TO HAVE OWN COLLEGE OF MEDICINE
THE VISAYAS State University moved closer to having its own College of Medicine after a bill proposing its creation was passed on third and final reading at the House of Representatives.
House Bill 7412, filed by Leyte 5th District Representative Carl Cari, provides that VSU’s College of Medicine will be located at the city of Baybay, Leyte.
“I am optimistic about the smooth passage and favorable consideration it will receive in the Senate, as well as its approval by the Office of the President, to benefit the Leytenos,” Cari said on Facebook.
“This proposed legislation seeks to develop and produce professional physicians in order to boost the region’n and the nation’s health-care systems,” he added.
VSU welcomed the development and expressed hope that Cari’s aspirations will soon become a reality.
