VISAYAS STATE U QUALIFIES FOR FOOD TECH LICENSURE EXAM
THE VISAYAS State University was given a Certificate of Compliance by the Professional Regulation Commission for its BS in Food Technology program after it passed inspection.
Graduates of schools granted CoC are permitted to take the licensure examinations.
The VSU was the first institution in Eastern Visayas to qualify for the board exam that will be administered next year.
Dr. Anthony Sales, chairman of the newly created National Professional Regulatory Board for Food Technology, headed the team of evaluators together with Board Member Remedios Baclig and PRC Region 8 Representative Alma Genotiva.
The BS in Food Technology program went through a “rigorous assessment process” including curriculum and faculty profile reviews.
“After a thorough audit, the PRC team conferred the VSU Food Technology program with the certification for being fully compliant following the basic policies, standards, and conditions required by the commission,” the school said.
“VSU is the 8th higher education institution in the country to be awarded with compliance certification from the PRC. There are 33 other institutions currently under inspection by the PRC,” it added.
