VISAYAS STATE U LAUDS IATF MOVE ELEVATING EDUCATION PERSONNEL IN VAX PRIORITY LIST
VISAYAS State University lauded the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases after the body approved to elevate the vaccine priority classification of personnel from Higher Education Institutions.
Commission on Higher Education Chairman Popoy De Vera made the announcement, noting the critical role being played by HEIs.
“We at VSU are grateful to the national IATF for considering frontliners coming from Higher Education Institutions as one of the priority groups for vaccination. We likewise laud the efforts of CHED Chairperson Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III for this initiative,” VSU said on Facebook.
“We are hopeful that this development will enable universities and colleges to continue our very important mandate of educating the public and producing quality professionals who will help us reset, rebound and recover the Philippine economy,” it added.
HEI personnel are now classified as A4 along with frontline personnel in essential sectors and uniformed personnel.
“HEI personnel need to be prioritized since the current semester is about to end and there should be no delay in the processing of the documents of students who will continue their studies or will graduate,” De Vera said.
