VISAYAS STATE U GETS GRANT TO BECOME ‘SMART CAMPUS’

/ 19 January 2021

THE COMMISSION on Higher Education gave the Visayas State University a cash grant to help it transition into a “smart university.”

CHED said VSU will receive P14 million for the first quarter of 2021. It will get another P25 million during the second phase of the project.

VSU said that it will use the cash grant to buy a climate-proof data center hub, Information and Communications Technology equipment, and to build a demonstration area for a smart classroom setup.

It added that these developments will greatly help VSU in its efforts to deliver quality education amid the Covid19 pandemic.

VSU President Edgardo E. Tulin signed the memorandum of agreement with representatives of CHED on December 29, 2020.

The MOA was transmitted to its central office for finalization, VSU said.
