MEMBERS of the Visayas State University community continue to provide aid for the victims of Typhoon Odette in Southern Leyte.

VSU said that its alumni class of 1987 collected P50,000 for the victims.

Those who were behind the donation drive were Class of 87 President Joe Tuyor and alumni Antonia D. Salamat, Myra Flordelina S. Bitor, Juvy Oliva S. Rusiana, Dr. Christina A. Gabrillo and Pauline S. Caintic.

The group visited the towns of San Francisco, Libagon, Sogod, Bontoc, Tomas Oppus, Macrohon and Maasin City and distributed cash assistance to 12 pre-identified victims whose houses were heavily damaged by the typhoon.

Each of them received P3,500.

VSU said that two more recipients will also receive the same amount of cash assistance.
