VISAYAS STATE U COLLABORATES WITH JAPANESE U
THE VISAYAS State University partnered with the Tottori University in Japan to develop fruit devices.
One of the projects will be the development of a portable and non-contact jackfruit quality and maturity detector using Shortwave Near Infrared technology and computer vision techniques.
The other is an automatic drying system for cassava grates using a real-time moisture content sensor.
The collaboration allows faculty members from both institutions to conduct joint data analysis and lecture seminars.
Researchers from VSU visited Japan to learn about their practices and incorporate their techniques.
