UZ AND COAST GUARD INK PARTNERSHIP FOR LAND USE
THE UNIVERSIDAD de Zamboanga signed a deed of usufruct with the Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao for the use of its property for the establishment of the Operational Control Unit Offices to expand the government agency’s strategic presence.
Under the agreement, the one-hectare property and a structure consisting of 1,379 square meters of the UZ Cabatangan Campus will be used by the coast guard for five years.
Those who were present during the signing of the DOU were UZ President Abram Eustaquio, Captain Dennis Pandeagua, commander of the Coast Guard District South Western Mindanao and Rear Admiral Joseph Coyme, commander of the Philippine Coast Guard Marine Safety Services Command.
“This partnership is a testament to how private-public partnerships can contribute to nation-building. We need the support of all sectors to produce professional men and women to serve the Filipino people in times of peace and disaster,” Abram Eustaquio said.
Meanwhile, the UZ president received the Outstanding Achievement Medal and Ribbon in recognition of the partnership with the coast guard.
