UST STUDENT AWARDED FOR EDUCATION PROJECTS
A STUDENT of the University of Santo Tomas was recognized by the George H.W. Bush Inspiration Honors for his education projects for the poor.
Qjiel Mariano was included in the Points of Light Honor Roll founded by former United States President George Bush to celebrate “Outstanding Individuals Who Help Brighten Communities” with their acts of service, kindness, and civic engagement.
The nursing student said that he wanted to be a champion for public health to help the country recover from the health crisis.
Mariano is a co-founder of Street to the Schools, an organization that rolled out projects related to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals in his community.
He was also a recipient of the Youth Service America Everyday Young Hero Awards for his Ladders to Literacy project.
