/ 19 April 2021

A SEMINARIAN from the University of Santo Tomas and the school’s publication the Varsitarian were recognized in the 2020 Catholic Social Media Awards.

Enrico Machoron was awarded for having the Best Catholic Vlog.

Machoron’s Facebook page, which has over a million followers, features Catholic teachings and morals, “presented in a light and relatable manner.”

“Interspersed with these vlogs are inspirational quotes and stories, as well as airing of the daily Masses,” UST said.

The Varsitarian, on the other hand, was declared the Best Catholic Organization Website.

“The 93-year-old publication is one of the oldest existing school papers in the country. Among its sections is Witness, which focuses on content of a Catholic orientation,” UST said.

“Over the decades, Varsitarian has chronicled important religious events in the University and outside, such as the historic Papal visits that have taken place in the campus,” it added.

The Catholic Social Media Awards is organized by Areopagus Communications and YouthPinoy.
