THREE academic staff members from the University of Santo Tomas have been appointed to key Technical Panels of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), reinforcing the university’s role in shaping national higher education standards.

Faculty of Engineering Dean and Department of Electronics Engineering faculty member Prof. Angelo R. dela Cruz was named a member of the Technical Panel for Electronics Engineering.

Assoc. Prof. Dolores Cleofas of the Department of Civil Engineering was appointed chairperson of the Technical Panel for Sanitary Engineering.

Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Carlito Gutierrez, chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering, was designated a member of the Technical Panel for Electrical Engineering.

The three appointees will serve on their respective panels from September 2025 until September 2028.

As members of CHED’s Technical Panels, they will provide expert input on setting standards and guidelines for higher education programs, including curriculum development, educational quality, and licensure, ensuring public welfare and safety.
