/ 2 December 2022

A PROFESSOR from the University of Santo Tomas won the Best Opinion Column award in this year’s Catholic Mass Media Awards.

Rev. Fr. Rolando dela Rosa of the Sacred Theology and former rector of the university was recognized for his long-standing column called “Through Untrue.”

His column, which began in 1990, was part of five entries. It can be read every Sunday in the Manila Bulletin.

Several of his writings have been compiled in two books, namely, “We Become What We Love” published by the UST Publishing House and “Sole to Soul: A Journey to Joy and Happiness” published by St. Pauls.

A prolific writer, Fr. De la Rosa has written over two hundred columns, on top of the award-winning publication “History of the Filipinization of the Religious Orders in the Philippines: Beginnings of the Filipino Dominicans,” which won the National Book Award in History in 1991.

He received the Catholic Authors Award in 1996 from the Asian Catholic Publishers and the Archdiocese of Manila.
