THE DEAN of the University of Santo Tomas’ Faculty of Pharmacy was named as the new president of the Philippine Pharmacists Association, Inc.

Dr. Aleth Therese Dacanay assumed office on June 25, 2023. She will hold the position until 2026.

“Everyone has an important role to play here, and our goal must always be for the good of the association,” UST quoted Dacanay as saying in her inaugural address.

Anchoring her leadership on Lead, Empower, and Innovate, Dacanay expressed excitement for the next three years.

With her at the helm, PPHA is expected to maximize its existing and future partnerships with stakeholders to advance the cause of pharmacists.

Dacanay served as president of the Philippine Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.

She serves as the chairman of the Technical Panel for Pharmacy of the Commission on Higher Education and the Continuing Professional Development Council for Pharmacy of the Professional Regulation Commission.

She has served as dean of UST’s Faculty of Pharmacy since 2015.
