AFTER 15 months of remote learning, physical classes finally resumed in the University of Santo Tomas. That is, for students taking medicine.
A report by the school’s publication The Varsitarian said face-to-face classes started on Wednesday, June 9.
Physical classes will be held for a month or until July 10.
Clinical Clerks Council President Michael Cuevas said that the “university had placed sufficient measures to ensure the safe conduct of on-site classes.”
“The facilities to be used have been arranged for the supposed start last March, so they just tweaked the schedule,” Cuevas said.
UST said all students were required to be fully vaccinated against Covid19 before attending in-person classes.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Professor Cheryl Peralta earlier said that the university crafted health protocols to ensure the safety of students and faculty.
Students were asked to bring their own food and drinks. They were also reminded to observe minimum health protocols such as wearing of personal protective equipment, face mask and face shield, frequent use of disinfectant, and physical distancing.
